These circa 1960s earrings are exquisite. They pack a huge amount of beauty onto a not-too-large and fairly narrow sterling silver circle shaped bezel, thanks to the detailed innovative design. The earrings are not signed yet are in the style of Santo Domingo Pueblo or Zuni Pueblo, each known for micro-mosaic channel inlay. I've never seen anything quite like these. Hand shaped pieces of natural turquoise are fit between spaces created by borders or channels. Often in channel inlay jewelry, borders are made with sterling silver; in this case they are made with narrow strips black onyx, which adds much more graphic contrast. Separating the top half of turquoise and the bottom half of natural spiny oyter are two Mother of Pearl and black onyx designs, one on each side, also graphic and geometric. The hoops dangle from posts made with black onyx, again creating such a perfect and innovative overall design. Can you imagine the work that went into laying this design out on a narrow circle bezel? If you are someone who loves unusual vintage jewelry, you will never find a piece quite like these. The other characteristics that make these earrings both special and valuable are the use of natural turquoise, which we can see has changed color due to exposure to oils on the skin over the years. Collectors look for color variation in vintage Native American jewelry today. The orange spiny oyster is also all natural, not injected with color. There are surface cracks in the shell, which I've captured in Photo 7; however, the shell is well seated. The silver, stamped STERLING on the back, is tarnished from age.
Each earring hoop measures 1-1/4" in diameter, and the earrings are 2" long when including the sections from which the hoops dangle. One of the posts is no longer straight. I do not recommend trying to straighten it, as doing so could cause it to snap off.

• We accept returns. Per our policies, contact us within five days of delivery. (Note: per EU rules, the window to inform us of a desire to return an order is 14 days.) Return shipping with insurance and tracking is at your expense. We process refunds once the item is returned in the same condition received.
• If your item arrives damaged, photograph it with packaging so we may make a claim.

Yes, we can work with you on a payment plan with immediate down payment. We generally do 30-day plans of two payments, but for more expensive items we can do a 60- or 90-day plan.
Note that layaways past due over 30 days (with three reminders) go into default. Once in default the transaction is cancelled and layaway payments are not returnable due to having removed items from the market and losing potential sales.
