Early 1900s Antique Stained Pine Wooden Box for Fishing Pole, Primitive Decor Rustic Display
This long and narrow antique fishing rod box was made circa 1990s to 1920s, of stained pine wood with metal hinges and handle. Although made to hold a (likely fly) fishing rod, in the old New Mexico estate where I found the case, it was set upon a fireplace bench and held small things, like matches and lighter and other antique trinkets. The box possibly came to New Mexico with a family who moved here from back East, and the wood, drying in this arid climate, developed a fairly long crack along the top. The crack go through the wood, yet because of the way the edge is nailed down, the top is stable in spite of the crack. There are many scratches and dings on the bottom, telling me that this was only used as décor of the latter part of its life, but that at one time it was carried, set down, and bounced around, possibly in the bed of an old truck. Today it is a delightful and rare box--these old ones are very hard to find today--that makes for authentic rustic décor. The piece is particularly suited for a mountain cabin, lakeside home, or give a gift for your favorite fisherman or woman.
Measure 32-1/2" long by 3-3/8" high and deep. Again, there is the one large crack at the top. Also check out the many dings and wear from age and use.

Returns & Refunds
• We accept returns. Per our policies, contact us within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping with insurance and tracking is at your expense. We process refunds once the item is returned in the same condition received.
• If your item arrives damaged, photograph it with packaging so we may make a claim.
• Returning an item is no fun; contact us before buying to ask questions or request additional photos. I'd rather talk you out of something vs your being disappointed with a purchase!

Do you do layaways?
We can work with you on a payment plan with immediate down payment up to two months for full payment.
Note that layaways past due over 30 days go into default. Once in default the transaction is cancelled and layaway payments are not returnable due to having removed items from the market and losing potential sales.

We do NOT do reserves or holds. Like any business, we use sales proceeds to keep the shop running. We truly can't afford to take items off the market. But even if you have some funds with which to make a down payment, we can do layaway with you. Just convo to say you'd like to do a layaway, and we'll work with you on that route instead of a Hold or Reserve.
