Native American Carlos Eagle Cornrow Inlay Multi Stone Turquoise Cuff Bracelet, Old Pawn Jewelry
This vintage cuff bracelet is 118 grams of stunning artistry, made using a method called "cornrow inlay" in which tubular rows of turquoise are laid side by side on a sterling silver foundation or bezel, creating the look of cobblestone. This format is done by a few masters--Navajo Pete Sierra and Hopi Charles Loloma the best known--and this particular piece is also by a Native American master silversmith and lapidary named Carlos Eagle. From a website about the artist: "Carlos’ career as a jeweler began in the 1970’s, inspired by his mother, who was an artist of Ottawa/Chippewa descent. He is completely self-taught. Unlike many jewelers, he is both a lapidary and a silversmith, and fabricates all of his jewelry by himself. Nothing is cast or manufactured. He is an Elder in the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, but also considers himself part of God’s Universal Family. His greatest pride comes from his work with animals and caring for the land. 'I am doubly blessed. I have been able to pursue my passion for art as a career which has enabled me to live the life I have dreamed of. No one could ask for more'." He's been featured in magazines and has adorned celebrities with his amazing pieces. This particular cuff bracelet came out of an antique store that closed in the 1980s, in the northeastern New Mexico town of Springer, NM. I acquired the piece from the daughter of the owners, and it was never worn. In is circa 1970s and is what we call "dead stock," which means is in unworn condition yet is old. If you're familiar with Carlos Eagle's pieces, you'll recognize that this is among one of the most beautiful out there. That is in part for the vibrant mix of stones, which include turquoise, sugilite, red spiny oyster, serpentine, black onyx, white Mother of Pearl, and others. The sterling silver sides are hand stamped.
The bracelet face measures 1-3/4" wide and taking a soft tape measure to the interior is 5-5/8" wide with a 1-1/2" gap for a total length of 7-1/8". It weighs 118g. It has tarnish on the interior and silver borders. The stones are all in excellent condition and well seated. This is not the kind of bracelet you can adjust, even slightly, and doing so will compromise the stones.

Returns & Refunds
• We accept returns. Per our policies, contact us within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping with insurance and tracking is at your expense. We process refunds once the item is returned in the same condition received.
• If your item arrives damaged, photograph it with packaging so we may make a claim.

Do you do layaways?
We can work with you on a payment plan with immediate down payment up to two months for full payment.

We do NOT do reserves or holds. Like any business, we use sales proceeds to keep the shop running. We truly can't afford to take items off the market. But even if you have some funds with which to make a down payment, we can do layaway with you. Just convo to say you'd like to do a layaway, and we'll work with you on that route instead of a Hold or Reserve.
