This ring does not, at first glance, seem like something you'd expect to see in the Native American jewelry section, but it was made by Navajo silversmith Ann Curley for Albuquerque boutique Gertrude Zachary in the early 2000 timeframe. Zachary (1937-2013) was an Albuquerque icon who brought contemporary designs to Native American jewelry, then worked with some of the best Navajo and Zuni silversmiths to bring about her creations. Case in point, this ring is made with a type of Cubic Zirconia called "Mystic Topaz," and in this color palette of champagne with orange, pink, and warm tones, it is also sometimes referred to as "Sunrise Mystic Topaz." The gemstone is manmade, typically a clear stone that has been lab-enhanced to create vibrant hues reminiscent of a sunrise. Also note the slightly hammered sterling silver, in the bezel and the band. On the interior we see the hallmark for both Curley and Zachary, and from the boutique website, which still operates in Albuquerque, we learn that Zachary "was a true visionary. It was her amazing sense of grace and style that put her on the map in the Native American Jewelry industry. Born in Stuttgart, Germany, she moved to the United States in 1945. She spent her early years and college in Michigan and moved to Albuquerque in her early 30’s. Soon after she arrived in New Mexico, she realized that 'contemporary lines' were missing from the Native American jewelry market. With no background in jewelry design or manufacturing, she drew upon her natural artistic abilities and developed a new style for Native American jewelry, one that incorporated contemporary designs using gemstones with traditional stones. As the only female Native American Jewelry manufacturer in the 1970s, she pioneered the way for the women that would follow her." This ring is a great example of how she influenced Native American jewelry making, bringing quality workmanship to never-before-seen designs.
The ring face measures about 5/8" square. One end of the shank is not soldered to the foundation, making the ring slightly adjustable. I say "slightly" because if you open up the shank too big, it will not look or feel right, so I would keep it right around the resting size--Size 7--as much as possible. Really, that give in the ring is for adjustments within about 1/4" of the resting size. The ring weighs 14g. The stone is well seated.

• We ship within 1-3 days of order via USPS, Fed Ex, and UPS. and any order of $100 or more will be insured via third party insurance.
• Any package valued at $250 or more will require Signature upon delivery. Third Party insurer requires Signature in certain cases, so please do not ask that we ship without Signature as this creates a risk we are not willing to take.
Returns & Refunds
• We accept returns. Per our policies, contact us within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping with insurance and tracking is at your expense. We process refunds once the item is returned in the same condition received.
• If your item arrives damaged, photograph it with packaging so we may make a claim.
• Returning an item is no fun; contact us before buying to ask questions or request additional photos. I'd rather talk you out of something vs your being disappointed with a purchase!

Do you do layaways?
We can work with you on a payment plan with immediate down payment up to two months for full payment.
Note that layaways past due over 30 days go into default. Once in default the transaction is cancelled and layaway payments are not returnable due to having removed items from the market and losing potential sales.

We do NOT do reserves or holds. Like any business, we use sales proceeds to keep the shop running. We truly can't afford to take items off the market. But even if you have some funds with which to make a down payment, we can do layaway with you. Just convo to say you'd like to do a layaway, and we'll work with you on that route instead of a Hold or Reserve.
