This almost 16" tall vintage painted wood horse features colorful designs on the sides with orange background that pops against the black of the horse. The saddle is painted gold with ornate designs, and we have repeating imagery representing the bridle and saddle straps. I believe this is from India, circa 1980s, although this style of painting is found in other countries as well. The wood from which the horse is carved is heavy, and it was pieced together. Now, some 50 years later, we can see the seam marks from where the various pieces fit together. The paint is raised there--it probably was smooth when this was new. The lifted leg is nailed on accounting for that bend in the knee, but we can wiggle it and probably if we pull hard enough, take it off. I'm not suggesting you do that, just pointing out the wear from age. There was a split in the base, but that has been well sealed with glue. So again, lots of wear, various flaws, and yet it is an authentic vintage piece of folk art that has a great bohemian look. And it's large enough to command a spot in your room, whether displayed with other folk art or on a shelf or table alone.
Measures 15-3/4" tall to the tip of the ear, by 15-1/4" long and 4" wide. Weighs 5.10 pounds unpacked. Distressed condition; definitely not for the person wanting a like-new piece!

• We ship within 1-3 days of order via USPS, Fed Ex, and UPS. insure items of $100 or more. In some cases we add Signature Required. If we need to delay shipping due to travel, we will let you know.
• We accept returns. Per our policies, contact us within five days of delivery. (Note: per EU rules, the window to inform us of a desire to return an order is 14 days.) Return shipping with insurance and tracking is at your expense. We process refunds once the item is returned in the same condition received.
• If your item arrives damaged, photograph it with packaging so we may make a claim.
• Returning an item is no fun; contact us before buying to ask questions or request additional photos. I'd rather talk you out of something vs your being disappointed with a purchase!

Yes, we can work with you on a payment plan with immediate down payment. We generally do 30-day plans of two payments, but for more expensive items we can do a 60- or 90-day plan.
Note that layaways past due over 30 days (with three reminders) go into default. Once in default the transaction is cancelled and layaway payments are not returnable due to having removed items from the market and losing potential sales.
