Old Pawn Large Cuff Bracelet Coral Mother of Pearl Turquoise Cuff Native American Indian Jewelry
Photos do not do justice to this amazing cuff bracelet. I've only ever had one like it before, and that one paled in comparison. And about that one, which was less impressive than this, I said I had never seen a cuff like it! Well, ditto that and then some. The triple wire shank holds three rows of shadowbox teardrops, almost pear shaped if you're holding them a certain direction. the top (or bottom, but I'm going to call it the top) row is coral, and at the ends of the tear drops are three raindrops. Next row is Mother of Pearl. And the next row is turquoise. All of the round cabochons sit in sawtooth bezels. The backdrop is highly oxidized, creating a shadowbox effect. One of the Mother of Pearl cabs has a divot in it, like a chip, although I think it may have been that way originally. otherwise the cabs are in good condition. The piece I had like this before was signed in dremel by a Zuni Indian duo Andrea and Shirley Lonjose (ALS) who also affiliated with the next door pueblo of Acoma. This piece has a dremel mark with letters that could be ALS. I see an A, but the other letters are scratched out. Because of the similarity of the pieces, I did want to include that information, in the event they are from the same artist duo. Zuni and Acoma Pueblos are relatively close to one another, and even to this day there are Native Americans who are registered with one tribal nation yet have a father or mother from another tribal nation and thus affiliate with more than one tribe. There is a great deal of tarnish on this piece. I have lightly polished the front, only enough to create more contrast between the oxidized backs of the teardrops--which we absolutely want to maintain as it creates depth and drama and is supposed to be oxidized--but I have not touched the underside. The reason is, that tarnish indicates that this piece is quite old. I estimate it to be 1950s to 1960s.
The face of the cuff measures about 2-1/4" wide at the widest point by 2-3/4" long. That is the face, but then measuring the cuff's length for sizing: it is about 5-1/2" inside taking a soft tape around, with a 7/8" gap. That is 6-3/8", perfect for a smaller wrist. You will not want to squeeze nor open this piece as doing so will compromise the bonding of the silver plates to the shank. I've already mentioned the divot in the center Mother of Pearl cabochon, and the tarnish. Otherwise in good vintage condition.

We do NOT do reserves or holds. Like any business, we use sales proceeds to keep the shop running. We truly can't afford to take items off the market.
