Vintage Fred Harvey Era cuff sterling silver Carico Lake turquoise bracelet Southwestern jewelry

Sorry, this item has sold.

Fred Harvey era bracelets are all absolutely wonderful and collectible, and still this piece is among the most gorgeous I've seen with stunning Carico Lake turquoise and deco-like silver repousse. From about 1900 to the mid 20th Century, the Fred Harvey Company helped popularize the Southwest among Eastern U.S residents by advertising Native American arts and culture in Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway calendars and publications. Fred Harvey Hotel gift shops were stocked with jewelry, which tourists bought up.

I've owned several Fred Harvey era bracelets; some are made with nickel not sterling and a large number are made with block turquoise, which is actually faux turquoise made with epoxy and turquoise powder or chalk. Again, the piece offered here is standout as it is stamped STERLING and is made not only of real turquoise but one of the most collectible types.

The bracelet measures about 5-3/8" around using a tape measure on the inside, with a 1" gap--perfect for a small-to-medium-small size wrist. The turquoise cabochon is just over 1/4" wide by just over 7/8" tall. The sterling silver carries a beautiful patina--it had been cleaned by the previous owner but not overly so. The one condition issue is that the curve of the cuff is no longer symmetrical--please see Photo 5 for a close-up of how one side has slightly been bent. This does not affect the overall look and feel.

Highly collectible era--and turquoise--in a unique design!

• Since returning an item is no fun for either of us, we encourage you to contact us before buying to ask questions or request additional photos. I'd rather talk you out of something vs your being disappointed with a purchase!
